How do I get the app after paying?
Open the Polar confirmation email and click “Access purchase” to find your license key. Already using the trial? Activate your key in the app. Otherwise, download LoQuill, drag it to Applications, and choose “Already purchased?” during setup.
Does my voice ever leave my Mac?
No. Listening, transcribing and cleanup all run on your Mac. LoQuill only goes online to activate your license or trial, check your license now and then, download models and updates, and send feedback when you choose to. Never your audio, never your dictated text. See exactly what we store →
Is it really a one-time purchase?
Yes. You pay once and the app is yours for good, including future app versions and every new fine-tuned model we release. No subscription hiding behind an asterisk.
What do lifetime updates include?
Everything we ship: app improvements, new features, and each new generation of our models. When we train a better one, LoQuill tells you and downloads it for free.
What models does it use?
Our own. We fine-tune models for exactly one job: turning natural speech into finished writing. The cleanup model is built on Alibaba Qwen and speech recognition on NVIDIA Parakeet, and both run on your Mac. Every license includes them, and when we train a better generation, your copy updates for free.
Which Macs does it run on?
LoQuill runs on Apple Silicon Macs with an M1 chip or newer, running macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later. Intel Macs, Windows, Linux, iPhones and iPads aren't supported.
To check your Mac, click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen, then choose About This Mac. Look for Chip and your macOS version. You'll need an Apple M1 or newer chip and macOS 15 or later. If it lists an Intel processor, your Mac isn't compatible.
Which languages does it support?
English. LoQuill’s cleanup model is fine-tuned on English. The speech recognition and language models underneath are multilingual, so other languages may work, but they aren’t tuned yet. Try yours free for 7 days.
Do I need internet?
You need internet to connect your free trial or activate a purchased key and download the models. After setup, dictation runs on your Mac, including offline during the trial. Updates and online access checks use the network separately.
I'm coming from Wispr Flow. What changes?
The habit is the same: hold a key, talk, release. What changes is where it happens. Your audio stops going to the cloud, the monthly bill stops, and the cleanup runs on models trained just for this.
How many Macs can I use it on?
One key unlocks one Mac. Solo comes with one key, Duo with two, Trio with three, and team purchases get one key per seat. Solo, Duo and Trio keys are delivered after checkout; Team keys are issued when each seat is claimed. If you ever replace a machine, write to us with your key and receipt and we'll reset your active seat so the key works on your new Mac, for free.
